Gewerkton — One Founder, 27 Languages and a Voice-First Bet on Construction’s Paper Trail

Construction sites generate an extraordinary amount of information, but they rarely generate it under comfortable conditions. Decisions are made while crews are moving, deadlines are tightening and work is unfolding across multiple trades. A defect needs a photograph and a deadline. Daywork needs to be recorded. A handover needs a signature. An instruction may need its original audio months later. The important detail is often captured far from a desk, sometimes from a scaffold or an offline corner of a sprawling project.

05 / STATUS CHECK

Large ambition, still explicitly a beta story

The platform is being tested and prepared for wider use—not presented as a completed global rollout.

Fall 2026 public beta planned

That is the setting for Gewerkton, a voice-first construction documentation and defect management platform for global markets. Its proposition is direct: dictate what is happening on site and turn that input into structured evidence connected to the practical details that matter, including a photo, deadline or signature. The company’s marketing line puts the idea even more plainly: “On site, what counts is what’s proven.”

The platform is in beta now, with a public beta planned for fall 2026. This is therefore a launch story about a product still being tested and prepared for wider use, not a finished system presented as though every question has already been settled. Yet the scope is already unusually broad: three connected product lines, 27 content languages, regional AI-provider choice and deployment options spanning an EU cloud or a customer’s own infrastructure.

A solo founder with an agent fleet

The human story behind that scope is strikingly compact. Gewerkton is being built by a solo founder directing a fleet of coding agents using Codex and Claude. In one night, that fleet shipped 21 software packages, verified with negative controls and mutation tests. Those testing methods are designed to challenge whether software checks catch failures rather than merely confirming that an expected path works.

It is a distinctly current model of company-building: one founder setting direction while coding agents take on a large volume of implementation work. The contrast between the size of the human team and the size of the intended market carries much of Gewerkton’s story. Construction is fragmented by geography, language, trade, software and local commercial practice. The platform is attempting to meet that complexity without pretending every project operates in the same way.

Gewerkton was born in the German market, where it has its deepest commercial integration through GAEB, REB, XRechnung and DATEV. At the same time, it is designed for global markets. Its 27 content languages address projects where the people capturing information may not share a first language, while its selectable AI regions cover EU, US and Asian providers, including providers in mainland China.

Three parts of one house

The product is organised as one branded house with three lines: Field, Studio and Cloud. Each addresses a different part of the information journey, from the first spoken observation on site to plans, models and coordination with outside systems.

Gewerkton Field is the voice-first construction-site app and the part closest to the physical work. Dictation can become evidence, defects, daywork reports or takt information, with a portal also included. In housing and building construction, that can mean recording a defect with a photo and deadline, dictating daywork reports and collecting a signature on the device during handover.

The voice-first approach also fits projects where stopping to type is unrealistic. On wind farms and renewable-energy sites, locations may be distributed, crews may rotate and field acceptance may happen in areas with dead zones. Field supports offline capture for those conditions. In infrastructure and tunnel projects, where work can run for long periods and involve many change orders, instructions can remain backed by their original audio.

Gewerkton — from our own media bank

Gewerkton Studio is the browser workspace for plans and models. If no model exists, the site team can create one in the browser. That detail matters because not every job begins with a complete digital representation ready for field use. Studio makes the model part of the working environment without assuming it was already supplied.

Gewerkton Cloud handles operations and model or data coordination between Field, Studio and third parties. Together, the three lines form a path from spoken capture through visual project context to broader coordination. Field carries the voice-led site experience, Studio provides the browser workspace, and Cloud connects their operations and data.

Language from capture to report

Multilingual support is not treated solely as a translated interface. Gewerkton supports 27 content languages, making language part of the capture and reporting process itself. On cross-border projects involving teams from the EU, US and APAC, people can work in their own language while the evidence original remains unambiguous. For projects in Asia, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese crews can work in a multilingual flow from capture to report.

The regional setup follows the same principle of choice. Gewerkton’s bring-your-own-AI model supports 13 AI providers. Users bring their own keys and select a region across the EU, US or Asia, including mainland China, without vendor lock-in. Data residency can be handled through an EU cloud or on the user’s own infrastructure. That gives projects a choice over both the AI provider and where their data resides.

These options are particularly relevant to projects that already cross borders in their people, systems and physical footprint. A construction platform aimed at global markets has to account for more than translation. Gewerkton’s stated structure combines multilingual content, region-selectable AI providers and infrastructure choice, while retaining the original evidence behind project records.

From meeting decisions to signed handovers

The deployment fields show how the same basic act—speaking an observation or instruction—can lead to different records. At data centres and industrial plants, many trades work in parallel under tight deadlines. Meeting decisions can become task lists sorted by trade. In housing, the emphasis may be a photographed defect with a deadline, a dictated daywork report or a signature captured during handover.

Gewerkton — from our own media bank

For wind farms and renewables, distributed sites and rotating crews make offline capture significant. For tunnels and infrastructure, long project durations and repeated change orders increase the value of keeping instructions connected to original audio. On cross-border projects, multilingual capture helps teams work in their own languages. Across Asian projects, the combination extends from capture to report while allowing data-residency choices.

The public-facing operation follows a similarly controlled approach. Gewerkton’s marketing site is available in 27 languages, uses zero trackers and has no cookie banner. It runs on a fully egress-free architecture. The company has also created a media bank containing more than 51 self-produced clips and posters, giving the beta-stage brand a substantial body of its own explanatory material.

A large ambition at beta stage

Gewerkton is attempting to connect the immediacy of a spoken site note with the structure expected from project evidence. Its three product lines cover capture, plans and models, and operational coordination. Its global design rests on 27 languages, 13 bring-your-own-AI provider options and selectable regions, while its German origins remain visible in the depth of its GAEB, REB, XRechnung and DATEV integration.

The most memorable element, however, remains the scale of the builder behind it: one founder directing a fleet of coding agents toward a platform intended for construction teams across Europe, the United States and Asia. The product is still in beta, and its public beta is planned for fall 2026. For now, the story is not one of a completed global rollout. It is the story of an unusually lean effort to make site evidence begin where the work happens—with a person speaking—and remain connected to the photos, deadlines, signatures, plans, models and original audio that give it meaning.
